Pa Julius's Biography
Pa Julius Oladunjoye Adebayo Eboda was born on Sunday, 11th September 1927 to his late dad, Mr Jeremiah Olujimi (formerly Osunjimi) Eboda and late mum, Madam Rhoda Aderemi Eboda, both of the Awoyale Compound in Otan Ayegbaju, now in Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria. He was baptised as an infant on the 25th September 1927 and confirmed as a communicant in the Anglican Communion on the 6th November 1951 while in St. Andrews College, Oyo. He had a Christian wedding with his late wife, Mrs Christianah Olubunmi Adenike Eboda (Nee Salako) on 29th December 1955 and the marriage lasted for 48 years until her transition on August 27th 2003. Their union was blessed with five sons, one daughter and many grandchildren.
Pa Eboda was an educationist in every sense of the word. Having schooled in St. Philips Anglican Primary School, Otan-Ayegbaju (1934 – 1942), Ibadan Boys High School, Ibadan (1946 – 1948) and St. Andrews College, Oyo (1951- 1953) for his primary, secondary and tertiary education respectively, he proceeded to Ohio University between 1958 and 1960 for US AID Project GTTC, Ibadan. He would later return to Ohio University Athens, Ohio, USA (1965 – 1967) for further studies.
Pa Eboda found purpose in the teaching profession and this reflects in his work experiences while he was in active service and after. He taught in schools like St. Barnabas Anglican School, Ilorin (1943 – 1945); St. Matthews Primary School, Ila-Orangun (1949); St. Philips Anglican Primary School, Otan Ayegbaju (1950); St. Davids Anglican Primary School, Ode – Omu (1954 – 1957); St. John’s Anglican Primary School, Ikire. (Jan – Sept. 1958); Ohio University (US AID) Project GTTC. Ibadan (1960 – 1962); Technical College, Ibadan USA on service training. 1963 (Departure to USA on service training); Technical College, Ibadan (now the Polytechnic, Ibadan) where he retired voluntarily from service on 11th March, 1973.
